Often the reason we enter therapy is because we are struggling with a personal experience that we feel other people just won’t understand. Sometimes these struggles may center around our sexuality or gender identity. Other times we might have trouble processing painful parts of our past that could include traumatic experiences or relationship challenges. We might even have a hard time explaining to others just how much anxiety, depression, or other overwhelming thoughts have started to impact various areas of our lives.
My goal as a therapist is always to try my best to understand you while having patience, humility, and openness. As we work together, I’ll get better at knowing your way of navigating the world, but I’ll also always be open to critique when I may not get something right. You are the expert on yourself and your life, but I hope that by working together I can help be a great co-pilot on your journey forward.
A typical therapy session with me involves us collaborating and reflecting on your experiences while developing tools to build strength and motivation to move towards what’s important to your future. Over time you’ll gain new skills or strengthen old ones, to better move towards the life you want to live.
